All ID cards must have a photo, physical description, signature, identification number, and issue or expiration date.  All IDs must be current and issued within the past 5 years.

• State Drivers License or ID card issued by CA DMV

• U.S. Passport

• Senior ID Card issued by State or government office

• Employee Identification Card issued by a state or government agency

• U.S. Military Identification Card (military cards must still contain all the info required by the CA Civil Code section 1185(b)(4) or they cannot be used as an ID

• A DL issued by another state or by a Canadian or Mexican public agency authorized to issue drivers licenses

• A valid Passport from the applicant’s country of citizenship

• A valid consular ID document issued by a consulate from the applicant’s country of citizenship

• ID Card issued by a federally recognized tribal government

If you do not have any acceptable ID's - you may use 2 credible witnesses who personally know you AND have a current and valid acceptable ID to verify your identity. Each witness will need to appear in person and will swear by oath or affirmation that you are the person who is being required to sign the document and not have any interest or be named in the document that is being notarized.
